Fruity yerba mate composition

This refreshing tea is produced in our Gräfenhof tea factory in northern Germany to ensure that every bag is fresh and aromatic. The history of mate tea dates back to the indigenous peoples of South America who revered 'mate' as a kind of 'sacred plant'. Mate (Ilex paraguariensis) is characterized by a high caffeine content and was traditionally used by the Guarani Indians as a stimulating drink. Over time, mate has spread to various regions and is now popular in many countries worldwide. To make our Mate Orange Tea, we use mate leaves from Brazil, which are mixed with sweet orange oil, fresh lemon grass and spicy ginger. A pinch of cardamom and black pepper give the tea additional spice, while the orange peels and curly mint leaves give it a refreshing freshness.
